North Atlantic right whales migrate south to warmer waters to their calving grounds from November to April each year. Amelia Island is the heart of their calving grounds! Mother whales will have their calves and nurture them during the winter months before they travel back to the waters in the Northeast United States and Canada. We come together to celebrate their return and to spread awareness of their presence in our local waters.
